1. Make a List. Before you pack anything create a simple record keeping system. Write down the number of each box and its contents. Be specific on writing the contents on the box. Don’t leave any guess work.
2. Have plenty of supplies. Lots of boxes, packing tape, labels, marking pens and newspaper or paper to wrap your items in.
3. Color Coordinate. Designate a colour for each room in the new home or office (orange for kitchen, blue for bedroom 1). Apply coloured stickers to each box near the number and put a matching sticker on the door to each room. The removalists will then know which room the boxes go in. Put a sign on the wall of each room where you want the boxes stacked – “Boxes Here Please”.
